Decadent, excessive, and lascivious, The Wolf of Wall Streethas whipped up just as many fans as it has moral majority naysayers, ready to tut-tut the 71-year-old Martin Scorsese for making such a dirty movie.
This movie is exactly what it needs to be, and that is why so many are struggling to keep it at anything other than arm’s length. Yet, there is something about this picture that makes the fierce cocaine-fueled frenzy surrounding it seem well earned…if misplaced. The Wolf of Wall Street is a good movie it’s probably even a great one.
